Michel Denis-Huot

Michel Denis-Huot es un fotógrafo francés (nacido el 20 de mayo de 1953 en Le Mesnil-le-Roi) que realiza fotografía de fauna salvaje, sobre todo del este de África (Kenia y Tanzania). Por lo general trabaja con su esposa Christine que también realiza gran parte de la comercialización de sus fotografías.

Biografía

Michel y Christine Denis-Huot, como testigos privilegiados de la belleza y la fragilidad de la naturaleza, exploran la sabana a bordo de su 4x4. Para ellos, la fotografía no es sólo un trabajo, es sobre todo la expresión de un profundo apego a la naturaleza y la libertad ... Su trabajo fotográfico nos da una mirada apasionada y atenta especialmente de animales (leones, leopardos, guepardos, …).

Michel y Christine firman sus fotos conjuntamente y se niegan a identificar quién realizó una imagen determinada. Sin embargo, a veces se puede adivinar el origen de la obra, recordando que a menudo trabaja Michel con lentes muy largos (incluyendo 600 mm) y Christine parece más más cómoda con los 500 o 300 mm.

Después de un primer viaje a Kenia en 1973, con 20 años, Michel se enamoró de África Oriental. Su dedicación y constancia ha hecho que  muchos de sus trabajos fotográficos sean reconocidos por su precisión y variedad. Su presencia a largo plazo en Kenia (normalmente en los mismos lugares, centrándose en una especie animal, por lo menos 6 meses al año) y una gran organización les permite ser la referencia de la fotografía de fauna salvaje en este país.

Michel es un de los fotógrafos de fauna salvaje involucrados desde el comienzo con la agencia de viajes Objectif Nature, especializada en la fotografía de la vida al aire libre y el ecoturismo. Ha sido un pionero en la creación de campamentos completamente especializados en la fotografía de un animal o de un tipo de animales (por ejemplo, los felinos del Mara), a partir de un campamento base, para minimizar los continuos desplazamientos habituales en safaris más turísticos.
