Alison Wright es una reportera estadounidense (nacida el 23 de diciembre de 1961 en Summit, Nueva Jersey, vive en Nueva York) que con sus escritos y fotografía trata de documentar las culturas y grupos humanos en peligro de extinción, recorriendo todos los rincones del mundo.

Biografía
Alison Wright asistió a la Watchung Hills Regional High School de New Jersey y estudió fotoperiodismo en la Universidad de Siracusa.
Ha obtenido dos veces el premio Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism de la Sociedad de Escritores de Viajes de América y se obtuvo una beca Dorothea Lange en Fotografía Documental de la Universidad de California en Berkeley en 1993.
En enero de 2000 casi muere en un accidente en Laos, cuando el autobús en el que viajaba fue alcanzado por un camión maderero. Su inspiradora historia de supervivencia, años de rehabilitación, y su determinación para recuperarse y continuar viajando por el mundo como una intrépida reportera gráfica ha sido publicada en las revistas Outside, National Geographic Adventure y Yoga Journal, y en su libroLearning to Breathe: One Woman’s Journey of Spirit and Survival.
Es la fundadora de la fundación Faces of Hope, que proporciona atención médica y educación a comunidades de Asia. Ha viajado por el mundo como fotógrafo durante más de dos décadas, centrado sus esfuerzos en materias de derechos humanos y de documentación de las tradiciones de las cambiantes culturas de todo el mundo.
Su fotografía está representada por National Geographic y Corbis y ha aparecido en numerosas publicaciones, incluyendo la revista National Geographic, National Geographic Traveler, National Geographic Adventure, Islands, Smithsonian, American Photo, Natural History, Time, Forbes, O: The Oprah Magazine, The New York Times, Yoga Journal, Outside, y San Francisco Chronicle.
